With no experience in drilling into ceramics, my first thought was masonry bit and a piece of tape. i think i'm turning into one of those handy types. Finding the perfect flower pot in the store, and then picking it up only to find there are no drainage holes in the pot is a disappointing experience. Ceramic pots and vases make for wonderful container gardens but many that you find at flea markets or specialty stores don't have a drainage hole. Most pots come with predrilled drainage holes in the bottom or side of the pot to allow for the necessary drainage.
